we've been around a while.
WNP is a grassroots organization committed to poverty reduction and the enhancement of the quality of life of Eastdale/ Cordage area citizens. Over the past 8 years, WNP has grown to include many different agencies and local community partners who have been identified as providing critical services to the neighbourhood. Members of the leadership team work collectively and collaboratively to avoid a duplication of services, conserve resources and provide an equal distribution of programming to the targeted area. This united ‘group’ effort has created a foundation of trust within the team and in the community at large.
WNP places a great emphasis on local leadership and strives to recruit, train and implement community leaders into many programs. Our mandate is to equip and empower the people within the Eastdale/ Cordage neighbourhood with the skills and supports necessary to better themselves their families, and ultimately their communities. It is our belief that the people we serve are the true leaders of the community with the ability to articulate their needs and find creative solutions to the challenges they face everyday.

The tree in the center of our logo represents a healthy community. In its branches are the four WNP cornerstones, placed in stars that represent light, hopes and dreams. The swing illustrates the importance of children in a community. It is also representative of ‘the silent voice’ as children are often the most vulnerable to the effects of poverty.
